// pricing
Pay for what runs,in 10-minute ticks.
No base fee; credits come off as instances run. Every approved event gets 30,000 credits free, and even large events come in under running your own servers on AWS or Google Cloud.
01 pricing
Credits, countedin 10-minute ticks.
All usage is counted in 10-minute ticks and charged in credits. 1 credit = $0.0004, so $10 buys 25,000 credits. New accounts get a sandbox event with 7,500 credits ($3) to try things out, and every event we approve gets 30,000 credits free, which covers a campus-sized CTF outright. There are no seat or platform fees, and on-demand has no minimum spend.
the meter
| resource | unit | credits |
|---|---|---|
| Memory | 64 MiB · 10 min | 1 |
| vCPU (shared) | 0.25 vCPU · 10 min | 2 |
| Disk | 2 GiB per instance | free |
| beyond that, 12 GiB · 10 min | 1 | |
| Egress | 20 GB per event | free |
| beyond that, per GB (metered every 10 min) | varies by region | |
| Image storage | 10 GiB | free |
| beyond that, 5 GiB · 10 min | 1 | |
| Ingress, IPv4, TLS, DDoS protection | free |
Each started 10-minute tick is billed. Images are deleted automatically once they go unused for a while after their last use, and storage stops being billed then. In Frankfurt, a 128 MiB / 0.25 vCPU instance costs 4 credits ($0.0016) per tick, and a 512 MiB / 0.5 vCPU instance costs 12 credits ($0.0048).

on-demand and reserved
Both plans use the same unit prices. Reserved guarantees capacity for your event window, and reserved capacity is billed whether or not it is used.

About 94 instances running on average, up to ~282 right after the start.
For the first few hours, reserving about 141 GiB / 141 vCPU is a safe choice.
Rough estimate. Instance starts are assumed to cluster early, so peak is set at 3× the average. During the event, actual usage is shown in the dashboard.
running it yourself
List-price cost of hosting the same event on your own servers: sized for the peak, kept running for the event plus a day of setup and testing, with CPU shared at the same ratio as ours.
List prices as of October 2026. AWS and Google Cloud include egress; disks, load balancers and your own time are left out. Asian regions use Seoul prices.
03 questions
- Q.What happens if credits run out during the event?
- We'll let you know when your balance is running low. Even if credits run out, running instances won't be stopped on the spot. Billing can wait. The CTF can't.
- Q.How do the free credits work?
- Every new account gets a sandbox event with 7,500 credits ($3) for trying things out. Register your real event and, once we approve it, it gets 30,000 more, which is enough for a campus-sized CTF. Student and non-profit events that need more can apply for community support.
- Q.How do I register an event?
- Send a registration request with a short description, the website, the dates and the expected number of teams. We review it and approve it. Until then you can upload challenges and start instances in your sandbox event.
- Q.Is testing before the event billed?
- Yes, like any other instance time. It comes out of the free credits first, so most testing costs nothing.
- Q.How is a multi-region event billed?
- Each instance is billed at the multiplier and egress rate of the region it actually ran in. The calculator assumes one region, so a multi-region event will differ a little with the regional mix.
